Comtrex PSConnect Interface Service
Installation and Reference

The Comtrex PSConnect Interface Service is intended to be installed only by Comtrex installation and support personnel.
The PaymentSense "PS Connect" Service is bundled into the Comtrex "PSConnect Interface Service" installation to insure compatible software versions are installed together.
Mandatory Installation Prerequisites
  1. Setup and Configure PDQ(s). Links on previous page.
  2. Get a Terminal ID (TID) number from each PDQ you are going to use for P@T. There should be a "TID" number on the printed chit that comes with the PDQ. If not, follow this sequence to get the PDQ to print it's TID for you.
    • Menu x 2
    • F3 Supervisor - password (123456 or 01483) (123456 worked for me)
    • F4 LOGON
    • F1 ALL
Installation Instructions
Important: Read this section before starting installation.
  1. These instructions are assuming you are logged on to, and performing this installation from the actual target machine.
  2. Installation should be on the PC that is hosting the Odyssey databases.
  3. If "Comtrex PSConnect Interface Service" is already installed, perform the following steps.
    • Administrative Tools > Services > Stop "Comtrex PSConnect Interface Service".
    • Control Panel > Add Remove Programs > Remove "Comtrex PSConnect Interface Service".
  4. If "PS Connect" is already installed, perform the following steps.
    • Administrative Tools > Services > Stop "PS Connect".
    • Control Panel > Add Remove Programs > Remove "PS Connect".
  5. Caution: Near the end of the Comtrex PSConnect Interface Service install, the PaymentSense PS Connect install will start. Take the defaults until you get to the "Ingenico USB Drivers Package" dialog. Click "cancel" there so as not to install any USB drivers. The USB driver package is for retail, and not required for WiFi or Bluetooth. Also this dialog sometimes hides behind the PS Connect install dialog, so if the PS Connect install appears dead or unresponsive, look on the task bar for another dialog or just move the primary dialog and look behind it.
  6. Click on the installation link below to run or download (ftp) the installation program.
    • If downloading, download it to any temporary directory on your C: drive.
    • If running directly, ignore the security warning.
  7. If you downloaded "PSConnectInterfaceServiceSetup.msi", execute it to start the installation.
Installation Followup
Important: Make sure you complete the following steps right away.

 
Cautionary Note!
Support personel will take note that this installation could be performed on a (32 bit) or (64 bit) version of Microsoft Windows. Please pay special attention to the instructions below as the correct choice has to be made. If you are unsure, go to "Control Panel > System" and check the system type. If you do not see a reference to 64 bit, it is probably 32 bit.
  1. Update the registry using regedit.exe. Registry entries required are listed below. The entries in yellow are manditory. You will find the registry entries under one of the following registry keys depending on whether your server is (32 bit) or (64 bit).

    • (64 bit) [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Comtrex Systems\PSConnectInterfaceService]

  2. Go to Administrative Tools --> Services. Find "Comtrex PSConnect Interface Service" and start the service.
  3. That completes the installation.
