Online Ordering - TCP/IP Service Installation

Installation Instructions

  1. Installation must be on the PC that is hosting the Odyssey databases.
  2. Insure you have Administrator privileges or use "Run as Administrator".
  3. Uninstall any existing INetOrderService installation first.
  4. Click on the installation link below to run or download (ftp) the installation program.
    • If downloading, download it to any temporary directory on your C: drive.
    • If running directly, ignore the security warning.
  5. If you downloaded the installation program (.msi), execute it to start the installation.
  6. After installation, delete downloaded (.msi) file if desired.

Installation Followup
Important: Make sure you complete the following steps right away.

  1. Be sure to open TCP port 6788 in your internet facing router(s).
    This port is for incoming orders from the internet to the INetOrderService (INetOrderService.exe).
  2. Be sure to open TCP port 6788 in your firewall on this server/terminal or pass INetOrderService.exe through your firewall.
  3. Be sure to open UDP port 31248 on the terminal that is designated as the processing terminal.
    If no firewall is running on the processing terminal, or POS2100.EXE is passed through the firewall, there is probably nothing to do.
    This port is used by the dll to notify the processing terminal POS2100.exe that an order has arrived. This notification is especially important for instore kiosk type ordering for throughput.
  4. In POS2100 Programming, go to [Printer Configuration][Terminal Print Options] and tab [Output]. Change Print/Video Output Path from G:\POS2100\Remote to C:\Icom\POS2100\Remote. For this terminal only.
  5. Read the documentation about Online Ordering.

Installation Reference

  1. Registry changes made to POS2100 environment by this installation.
    These paths are normally substituted drives (G:) and substituted drives may not be available for the service (INetOrderService.exe).

  2. Files updated or installed by this installation.
    • C:\windows
      • INetOrder.dll - Extracts menu from DB and inserts orders into DB.
      • POS2100AUX.dll - Provides real time ordering functionality.
    • (32 bit) C:\Program Files\Comtrex Systems\INetOrderService OR
      (64 bit) C:\Program Files (x86)\Comtrex Systems\INetOrderService
      • INetOrderService.exe - TCP/IP Service executable.
      • Misc. install/uninstall support files.
